KARLA MONKEVICH / Upon graduation from Penn State University with a degree in architecture, Karla wanted to acquire real experience in a trade to learn how structures are built before designing them. Hired on in a cabinet shop, she spent several years learning from master cabinetmakers. At KR+H, Karla’s experience in woodworking and architecture provides an ideal combination of abilities. She enjoys not only designing and producing great projects, but also working with clients in the process of discussion and discovery.
PAUL REIDT / Paul’s varied background includes graduate study in philosophy and architecture as well as years of hands-on work in carpentry and cabinetmaking. A leading collaborator in some of KR+H’s most ambitious design projects, Paul says that each dimension of his past experience yielded skills he still employs, from careful listening, to conceptual thinking, to the ability to solve problems through design. He finds that his joy in his work derives from its variety—the fact that each customer’s space, needs, and tastes together present a new and unique challenge.
